The Documentation module gives you a help centre at /support/docs/, holding structured, browsable reference content that lives apart from your blog. The pages you're reading now are exactly that.
Turning it on
Documentation is off by default. Switch it on under Settings → Modules, and a Documentation group appears in your admin sidebar with three screens: Manage Articles, Add New Article, and Sections.
Why it isn't just the blog
A blog is a feed. Newest comes first, and a post written two years ago sinks. Documentation is a reference: readers arrive looking for one specific answer and need to browse by topic. So the two are kept apart deliberately:
- Documentation articles never appear in your blog archive, your RSS feed, or a Blog Listing block.
- Blog posts never appear in your documentation index.
- The docs index is ordered by you, not by date.
- Each is described to search engines as what it actually is, either a blog post or a reference article.
Sections
Articles are grouped into sections, managed under Documentation → Sections. Sections can be nested, and their display order controls the order they appear in the index and the sidebar. Give each one a short description, which shows under the heading and helps readers find the right group quickly.
Reading order
Within a section, articles are ordered by their Display Order field, not by publish date. That same order drives the previous/next links at the foot of each article, so it's worth setting deliberately: it's the path a reader follows when working through a section start to finish.
Writing articles
The editor is the same one the blog uses, with page builder or HTML mode, drafts, scheduled publishing, preview links, and per-article SEO fields. An article's excerpt appears beneath its title in the index, so treat it as a one-line answer to "what's in here?"
Moving something between blog and docs
Open it from the other screen. An article edited under Documentation is documentation; a post edited under Blog is a post. If you move something that was already published, its old address will stop working, so set up a redirect and existing links won't break.
